Introduction:
Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary Park is one of the most popular tiger reserves
of the nation. This jungle den of Tiger is situated spread in the districts
of Mandla and Balaghat district of an Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This
forested Kanha Park is popular all over the world for its maximum varieties
in the Flora and Fauna. The hilly tracts of Satpura stands guardian to this
park. This park is spread over and area of 940 sq km. Its land structure
constitutes vast grassland, dry and flat top hill, thick heavy forest and
marshy forest. A wide range of animals and birds are supported by the diverse
landforms of this forest. Species available: Due to the availability of different kinds of habitat scenario for the wildlife species, it is one of the most popular wildlife centers in the world in terms of maximum numbers of wildlife species availability. These species range from the Indian typical animals to the world's rare of rarest species. The Kanha National Park is mainly known for its Tiger reserve. Even though Tigers are the main concern of the site, the availability and supporting the breeding of Barasingha to save from extinction is making this park distinct from the rest of the National Parks of the country. Barasingha is a deer specie that is currently nowhere found in the universe. Kanha is reported to have some 22 species of mammalian species. Some species of mammalian, which is easily visible, are common Langur (Indian Monkeys), Squirrels, Wild Boar, Jackal, Chital, Blackbuck, Sambar and Barasingha the swamp deer. Some species are rare in the park and some stay hiding themselves from the human visitors. Animals like Tiger, Local Hare, Indian Wolf, Wild Cat, Sloth Bear, Leopard, Striped Hyena, Mouse Deer, Chausingha, Porcupine, Nilgai and Ratel are some population of the park, which is not frequently available to the visitors for view. Kanha is also reported to have some 200 species of bird species. Places in the park like bamboo forest, mixed forest and grassy forest are nestled by the bird species and hence the visitors are suggested to move towards these places for view of maximum bird species.
Travel
information: For touring Kanha Park, one is recommended to have at least
a stay of 3 days so that one can have a complete view of the park. Jeep
safaris and Elephant safari are used for touring inside the park. Due to
the bad climatic condition during the monsoon the park is remained closed
to visitors from July to October. The best and recommended time to visit
this place is from February to June. Dinning and lodging are available at
variety of ranges suiting the budget of all the travelers. All the modern
modes of transportation are connecting the park with most of the main cities
of the country. One can enter the park either from Kathia or Mukki.
