Species available: The Corbett National Park is well known for its Tiger reserve. The application of Project Tiger was made in the year 1973 in connection with the World Wildlife Fund. Tiger is the main concern of this park. It is honoured as the first national Tiger reserve. Despite this, tigers, Leopards and Crocodiles are also counted the major members of Corbett. This park is well equipped with varieties of habitats supporting the existence of various species of wildlife. It is characterized with hilly mounds, flat valleys, rolling grasslands and wetlands. The river Ramganga flows along the whole stretch of the park and serves a purpose livelihood for many wildlife species. The mixed deciduous forest of this park is a conglomerate of 110 species of trees, 51 kinds of shrubs and 33 species of grass and bamboos. The population density of tiger is reported highest in this park. Apart from the tigers this National Park houses mammals of 50 species, 580 avian species and 25 species of reptiles. We can find different kinds of deer here like the Hog, Sambar, Barking deer and Chital. It is enriched with the Elephants, Wild Boar, Black Bears of Himalayas, varieties of cats' families, Wolfs and wild Dogs. Water birds, Jungle Fowls, Indian local Hornbills and Pheasants are some of the prestigious birds of the park. Mahaseer is the most popular and attracting fish species here. One can also fine Crocodiles along the marshy belts of the Ramganga River.

The period between mid-November to mi- June is suggested to be the best season to visit this park. This national park remains close from June 16th to November 14th every year due to the floods in monsoon blocks all the road links. One can get nearest aircraft transportation from the Phoolbagh at Pantnagar, which is at a distance of 50 km from the park. Main cities of India are connected to it and Delhi is the nearest international airport. The railway station of Ramnagar is the nearest railhead and from here one has to get roadways to reach the park.
