Introduction: The Garden city of India, Bangalore is the capital city of southern Indian state Karnataka. History: Bangalore has now been renamed Bengalooru, a Kannada term. Bengalooru word comes from "bende kaalu ooru," which means "the town of boiled beans." It is believed many years ago King Ballala from the Hoysala Dynasty lost his way in the jungle when he went for hunting. After some time, he met a poor, old woman who offered him some boiled beans to eat. The king, in a note of thank to her, named the place "bende kaalu ooru." However, the government of Karnataka has decided to change the existing name to Bengalooru.

The name Lal Bagh has been given to it for the bloomed red roses that remain blooming throughout the year in this garden. Situated in the heart of the city, the Cubbon Park is an interesting tourist spot, which one should not miss out. Lord Cubbon laid the park in the year 1864. It is spread over an area of about 300 acres and the layout is absolutely exquisite.
